I'm Bart, Digital Product Designer
I help teams turn ideas into products people actually love to use, for companies like Uber, Heineken and bol.com. Based in Rotterdam, over a decade in, I still love making complex things feel simple.

Uber Payments
Designing payment systems that handle transactions and financial partner integrations at scale, across Uber's products.
My process
How an idea becomes a product
Talk to the people involved, dig into the goals and the constraints, and agree on what problem is actually being solved.
Sketch, structure and argue the options out until one of them holds up. Changing your mind is cheap here and expensive later.
Interaction and visual design in one pass, built far enough to be clicked through, on patterns that keep working well past the screens I hand over.
Test it with real users, watch what changes, and keep adjusting once it is out in the world.
My toolbox
The apps I reach for every day, from design to code and everything in between.
How I work
Most of it comes down to naming the trade-off out loud: what the product is for, what it costs to build, and how well it holds up as it grows. They rarely point the same way.
